Umbria - Slow Italy Travel

Todd:We have been enjoying the slow country side lifestyle of umbria on our first day. We have been lounging by the pool and making Cuba Libres according to the true recipe. Cuban rum and coca cola out of a bottle. Two things that are a little difficult to come by in the states.

Still odd that we have a Cuban embargo. Strike it up to my naiveté but in the realm of current US involvements this seems rather topical. We are pushing 50 years on this issue whilst our planet has become an increasingly smaller place. Viva la rum.

Our hone in Umbria is probably reminiscent of adobe life in California. Stone home on a dirt rode in an agricultural area. We are just outside one of the more endearing and emergingly popular hill towns. However, We drive our dirt road in a brand new "blue energy" mercedes C class diesel rather than a burro. Pretty sweet ride. It interestingly turns off the engine when stopped, has a governor if you want to set it for conservation and has a variety of driving settings from economy to sport. Pictures to come.

The country side here is mountain bike haven. It is 500meter peak after 500 meter peak. Wish I had a bike and compadres to go and discover. It would be like riding through a very rural Napa with 50% (circa 1970) of vines replaced with olive trees. Again pictures coming.
