Well it's been quite the adventure so far and we've only just arrived! Our first flight was fairly uneventful other than being an hour late, which wasn't a big deal except that we missed our connection to Madrid (which we found out this morning had actually been cancelled and we didn't in fact miss it). We had a nice time hanging out at the Frankfurt airport though.
So we finally made it to our hotel in Madrid in the early evening, it's a funky modern sort of place in a cute, small plaza.

We changed our clothes and headed out to explore the city. We made our way to the beautiful Plaza Mayor to have a bite to eat.
The streets and the plaza were all very lively and there were many street performers to check out along the way.
Somehow we managed to find the hotel again after dinner and fell into our beds around 10:00. Despite being exhausted, none of us slept much, which has made it challenging to keep the noise down in our room and should make for an interesting day! We're heading out in a few minutes to visit the Museo Del Prado, the Museo Reina Sofia and the Royal Palace. Wish us luck!

it is so hot here and the spanish tortilla is so good! Also there are a lot of street performers.I love it here!
